We would like to introduce real backbone of Karting in India to you with this series.
In this series our first guest is Mr.Fayaz from Mecomotorsports.
He doesn’t need any introduction.We are thankful to him to share his views with us.
“My name is Abdul Aarif, but Motorsports fraternity knows me as Fayaz. I joined this company in 2007 through my friend who was working in Meco Racing. I used to do paperworks, accounting, tally after that I started to look on overall work like preparing entry list for races, preparing sporting regulation, preparing Technical Regulations and also interacting with all the customers. Step by step I entered into the admin and management department. I also used to work in karts and cars.
Currently I look over organizing karting and racing events, team management, accounts management, karting tracks management, stocks and spares management, customers management, interaction with parents and with national and international karting/racing drivers.“
What are the challenges you faced in early days of karting and how is it different nowadays?
In early days of karting the machines were complex to get it ready, but on track action was so much fun. Today the machines have evolved.
What do you like most about your job?
Racing is what I like the most in my job. Interacting with everyone from all over India during race weekends is a real pleasant experience.
You are with Meco motorsports since last 13 yrs.How is your relationship with Akbar sir?
He is my guru, boss and everything. Whatever I am today I have learnt from him.
How do you handle young kids at the track?
Kids nowdays are very brilliant and matured at very young age. Especially racing kids, they are one step ahead from normal kids. It is fun to see them growing up.
Any advice for newcomers joining racing?
Every sport is a passion for some people, Motorsports is the same. If you got the passion to join the racing world we are always here to help you.
Message for everyone during this tough time?
The lockdown time is one of the precious times in our lives. We can develop overselves during this time. Try to learn something new so that when you come out of quarantine you have gained something. Most importantly, stay home, stay safe and stay fit.
