“I was keen on Motorsport since high school and the opportunity to race came late in life after I started working when I was in my twenties .I attended a training program under the tutelage of Mr Akbar Ebrahim in 2005 and raced for a season in the Formula Marutis so that I could tick racing off my bucket list. Racing being addictive I ended up racing almost continuously for the next 15 years and I’m not sure if I’ll ever stop even if i may take a break in between.
I had originally intended to race for just a year or two but by now I have participated in 160 races with 60+ podium finishes including a couple of wins, poles and fastest laps along the way in single seaters and saloon cars as well as a single appearance in a two stroke rotax race.

You are a Pilot and Racer .How do you balance yourself for racing and your job?
Racing events are generally held over 5 events per season spread over a weekend in each instance and as soon as I get the race calendar I block my leave in advance.
How did you get started in racing? What do you love about it?
Growing up in Coimbatore immersed in the racing culture and having already developed a passion for aviation it would be inevitable that I would then develop a natural affinity towards Motorsport. I always dreamt of being a fighter pilot and when that ambition did not bear fruition it would be Motorsport that would satiate my need to consummate a desire for a transcendental experience that would in some way match that of flying fast jets!
While in India, How to participate in car racing?
There are a few academies for karting and racing at the grassroot level conducted by Meco Motorsports, Rayo racing , DTS racing and Raceconcepts under the tutelage of experienced and accomplished drivers at affordable costs(as compared to anywhere else in the world and at a fraction of the cost in Europe) . Racing is certainly not easy on the pocket and I consider it a necessary investment to train well before entering the sport .
What is the car you have had the most fun while driving?
Without a doubt the Formula swift which succeeded the trusty old Formula Maruti.
Have you ever been racing at a very fast speed and actually think you were going to loose control but somehow regained control. And if so was it just once and was it hard to overcome this fear?
Many a time and there is never time to be afraid .
What’s something that you have learnt from the sport, that helps you in your life outside of it?
A few years into the sport and I realized that my ability to multitask and troubleshoot improved tremendously.
What is your most memorable moment as a driver?
Every win, pole position and fastest lap earned in a competitive grid is memorable!
